Michael Patryn is the founder and chairman of Fintech Ventures Group (FVG), Canada's leading blockchain focused incubator and hedge fund.  A Vancouver-based entrepreneur, blockchain advisor and venture capitalist, Michael has more than 20 years of experience working with fintech companies, specializing in payment processing, banking, and platforms utilizing digital currencies.

Michael also works with a number of nonprofit organizations such as the World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation, the Vancouver Bitcoin Cooperative and the Lifeboat Foundation.

Michael was founder at QuadrigaCX, a Vancouver-based cryptocurrency exchange platform. QuadrigaCX provides an easy-to-use platform to simplify the process of buying and selling bitcoins. The company has been Canada’s leading (by market share) bitcoin exchange for several years.

Since 1999, Michael has worked with numerous top private digital currency providers in the capacity of: Market Maker, Broker, Marketing Consultant and Regulatory Advisor.

Outside of his work in the area of blockchain and digital currency, Michael has been quoted in numerous press articles about cryptocurrencies and has appeared at several conferences, including Euro Money 20/20.  Michael has also assisted various companies in the process of going public on the Canadian Securities Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange, helping with finance, compliance, M&A and strategic growth.

Michael earned his Master’s degree in Social Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
